Shower
You wake up and find the bed empty. "Adam?" you call, blurry-eyed. There's no answer but you realize you can hear the shower running. You slip out from under the covers. Your satin nightshirt hits you just above your knees as you creep to the bathroom door. Quietly, you push it open and sneak into the steam-filled room. You reach for the shower curtain, silently pull it back, and peek in. The shower is empty.
Suddenly, two strong arms wrap around your waist and lift you in the air. You gasp in surprise. You find yourself unceremoniously placed under the hot water spray.
"And just what do you think you were doing, hmmm?" Adam purrs playfully in your ear.
"Damn you Adam," you say, only half-meaning it, as your shirt soaks to your body, and your hair droops before your eyes in a wet clump.
Adam slips around in front of you, holding you close to him. He is smiling like a Cheshire cat, his eyes sparkling mischievously as he brushes the hair from your face. His wet hair begins to curl and the water beads on his face, chest and arms.
"Where did you come from? How the hell did you do that?"
"Uh-uh, an illusionist never reveals his tricks," he says sweetly and kisses the end of your nose.
A wicked smile graces your lips. "He does if he doesn't want his wand getting bent," you say back, equally sweet.
Adam brings his lips to your neck kissing up to your ear and he whispers, "Rrrrowwwrrr." All thoughts of why you were angry with him vanish as he covers your mouth with his.
