Rookin' For Rov
Adam grins as he opens the box. "I can't believe you got me this."
You smile in return. "Well, are you going to try it on?"
If you didn't know better, you'd say he was blushing. "You...you really want me to?"
You give him a little push toward the bathroom. "Why else do you think I got it? Please? For me?"
He releases a long-suffering sigh and disappears into the bathroom. While he's gone, you take the opportunity to slip into a red velvet teddy that he got you on Valentine's Day a couple of years ago. You seat yourself on the bed and keep careful watch on the door. Soon enough it opens and Adam sheepishly steps out.
Your smile is ear to ear. Standing before you is Adam Klaus wearing nothing but a pair of red and white Scooby-Doo boxer shorts that read "Rookin' for Rov".
"I feel silly." You stand long enough to take his hand and escort him to the bed beside you.
"You look so cute!"
"Great. That's just what I was going for. Cute. Here you are in that...and you know what that does to me. And I'm very cute."
You run your finger slowly along the shell of his ear. "I like cute."
He brushes your hand away. "Stop that. I'm pouting."
You rest your chin on his shoulder and blow softly into his ear. "You really want me to stop?" He doesn’t answer. You scoot a little closer. Your tongue sneaks out and flicks his lobe. "Well do you?"
He turns, passion smoldering in his eyes. "Madam, are you trying to seduce me?"
You innocently smile. "I don't know." You slowly lay back on the bed, keeping your eyes on his the entire time. "Is it working?"
"Oh God." He reaches out and touches your hair. "It's not all that's working." He lays down beside you. His warm soft hands trace your every curve as he moves to nuzzle at your neck. His kisses, licks and nips are about to drive you crazy when the phone rings.
"Your Valentine's gift to me would be a hit on Jonathan's life." He smiles and gives you one more lingering kiss before turning to the nightstand to retrieve the phone.
"Yes? Yes Jonathan. Are you certain?"
You've heard enough of these conversations to know what happens next. You sit up and move to stand when Adam's arm stops you.
"Right. No. No that's perfect. Thanks a heap."
You look to him in confusion. "You're leaving?"
"We're leaving. Jonathan just confirmed the next booking on the tour is a week and a half away. And the reservations have come through for your Valentine's present."
You smile. "My present?"
"One uninterrupted week with yours truly in lovely Greece. We're going to poke about all those ruins you've always wanted to."
You jump to your feet. "Really?"
He stands as well. "Really." He gives you a gentle shove that sends you back to the bed on your back. "Starting tomorrow." His smile sends a shiver of excitement up your spine. "Until then, it's still time for my present." He climbs onto the bed and kisses you tenderly.
