Adam

Red

by GylzGirl

You awake with a rose on the pillow beside you. You smile and reach for it. Upon doing so you find a note tied to its stem with red ribbon. You untie it and read:

Love,
Will be at the theater late. We need to run through a couple of the new illusions after the show tonight.
Your pass, as always, is waiting at the box office. If you're not too busy, come by and see the show. Afterwards, you can nap in my dressing room until I'm done. Rrrowwwrrr.
Yours,
Adam
PS. Wear red for me won't you?

You stretch like a lazy cat with a rather large grin on your face. You get out of bed and begin to make your plans for the day.

At dusk, you show up at the theater wearing a deep red velvet dress that clings to you in just the way Adam likes. Your hair is swept up with silver combs holding it in place. With red heels and a matching purse, you walk past the excited line waiting for Adam's show and up to the side entrance to the theater.

You knock on the locked door and Jonathan opens it. He looks you over, smiles, and then crosses his arms over his chest. "Now listen you, I get him until midnight. He has got to run the new act through once this week if it's going to be ready in time for the special next month."

You lightly grab the front of his shirt. "Agreed, but after that, he's all mine Big Boy. Don't make me have to fight you for him." He grins and you release his shirt.

He reaches down and unclips his backstage pass from the bottom of his shirt. He attaches it to your handbag. "Save you a trip to the box office. Go on in."

"Won't you need one?"

"Are you kidding? Adam's been giving them Hell all day and I've been keeping him mostly off their backs. They aren't about to toss me out."

"Good point. Adam can be a bear on show night."

"He passed bear at about 10 am. He's headed into Velociraptor territory now. I'd have you go in and calm him down, but we have a show in 20 minutes and I don't think it would start on time if I sent you."

You blush a little. "You're probably right. I'll be good then and just go and watch the show."

"Have fun," he calls after you.

You do indeed. They've already added two new illusions since you saw the show last. The second of which nearly had even you screaming, almost convinced it had gone wrong and Adam had been hurt.

About 15 minutes before the end of the show, a footlight gets blocked at just the right angle and Adam finally spots you in the crowd. His eyes linger for a moment as he smiles his approval, then he goes into the big finale.

After a standing ovation and two curtain calls, the house lights rise and the crowd begins to disperse. You wait for it to clear a little and then make your way to the backstage entrance at the side of the stage. You flash your pass to a new security man and are let in.

You head towards Adam's dressing room and knock on the door. There is no answer so you go on in. It is dark as you expected. You know from experience Adam will be at least an hour with Jonathan and the crew. You turn on the light. Sitting on his counter is a vase full of roses, matching the one on your pillow that morning. There is a simple card attached: "Love you, Adam". No doubt it is to let you know that they are for you and not in congratulations for his show.

As you further observe the room, you spy a red chenille throw tossed casually over the back of his black chaise lounge. You smile and turn off the light.

At half past 1, Adam opens the door to his dressing room. He frowns at the darkness, figuring that you must have gotten bored and went home. He turns on just the lights around his mirror.

Immediately before him, he sees the red dress he saw you wearing in the audience, hanging over the back of a chair. His eyes wander over to the chaise lounge where he sees you sleeping, bare shoulders peeking out from under the chenille and hair splayed across the pillow.

A lopsided grin spreads across his face. He closes the door behind him and shrugs out of his shirt. He kneels on the floor beside you. You awake slowly to the sensation of warm hands caressing your face and kisses dancing across your collarbone. You smile and stretch. Adam licks his lips as he watches this action move the chenille lower on your chest.

"Hi," you say.

"Hey." He runs his hand through your hair.

"I wore red for you."

Adam smiles and nods toward your discarded dress. "I saw. It looked beautiful on you Love."

You giggle. "No Silly. Not that red."

He arches his eyebrow. You pull down your cover to reveal the crimson bustier and matching panties you wear beneath the chenille. His lips part to allow his breath to escape. "Oh..." his eyes meet yours. "Beautiful doesn't begin to describe it." He slides his arm along yours until your fingers interlock. Adam leans down and kisses you very tenderly.
