Oh What a Night
You find yourself walking through the Sunnydale Cemetery at night. You have no memory of how you got there, but you are wearing only a thin, long flowing nightgown. You are cold and scared. You begin to run realizing the danger you are in. You hear the snap of a twig behind you and you turn your head without slowing down. You run smack into something hard. You scream and fall back to the ground and look up to see that what you ran into was actually a tall burly vampire who is now hissing down at you, fangs bared. It reaches down, clasping both of your wrists in one of its hands and hauls you to your feet with no effort. You try to struggle but it merely laughs at your attempts. It reaches for the material near your neck and rips it down, the torn fabric hangs loosely, fortunately not quite enough to expose you completely. You helplessly watch its face as it rears its head back and lunges forward to bite. The bite never comes. You hear the demon groan. Its eyes are wide and through the crisp night air you hear that refined accented voice that makes your heart skip a beat. "Let the lady go!"
The creature drops you to the earth once more. You land in an undignified sprawl and looking up, watch as the vampire disintegrate in a flurry of dust. Its departure reveals your savior. Rupert Giles stands before you. He kneels down to you, lightly running his hand along your jawline. "Are you all right? Here, let me help you up." He grips your arms and pulls you up against him. "You're freezing. Here." He slips out of his jacket and wraps it around your shoulder. He gently cups your chin in his hand and kisses you very tenderly. "I've been looking for you all night." He runs his hand down from your throat to the end of the skin exposed by the tear. "Did that thing hurt you?"
"No, I just..." Your knees buckle and he clasps you around the waist, holding you up against him. "I'm so dizzy."
"That's okay," he whispers in your ear, "That's just the spell wearing off."
"Spell?" Giles sweeps you into his arms, cradling you against him.
"Shh, go to sleep," his whispered tones are the last thing you hear as you black out.
The next thing you realize is that you're wonderfully warm. You wake to find yourself in front of Giles' roaring fireplace. From your vantage you can tell you're on the floor. Your nightgown is gone and you're laying under an impossibly soft blanket. Giles' strong arms wrap around you and you realize he's laying on large blue velvet pillows and his Persian carpet and you're laying on him and he's wearing the same thing you are, a smile. He gently turns you to face him and kisses...
