Disneyland
You are flying through the air on the Dumbo ride with Rupert's arm around your shoulders. Out of the corner of your eye, you catch him checking his watch for the tenth time that morning. You sigh, loudly.
"Not having a good time Love?"
"I'm having a great time. I just wish that sexy Rupert Giles guy I know would have come with me like I asked him to."
He smiles at you. "I don't believe I know this sexy Rupert Giles."
"Oh, you should make a point to get to know him. That man's butt is the reason jeans were invented."
Rupert blushes sweetly and clears his throat. "And he couldn't come along with you?"
"I thought he was going to but it seems he's still back with the ghoulies and beasties in Sunnydale." The ride stops and you disembark, Rupert holding your hand as you step down from the elephant-car. As you once more begin to weave your way through the crowds, he kisses your hand as he clasps it.
"If he passed up your company for the undead, then he's clearly insane."
"That's him. A real nut jobber." He quickly grabs you around the waist and lifts up, spinning you in the air. "Hey put me down! I'm going to get all dizzy and I'm saving that for the tea cups."
He sets you back on your feet and reclaims his grip on your hand. "I'm sorry Love. I didn't mean to be...well elsewhere. I suppose I just worry."
"I know, but if something were to happen, we're only about an hour away, and Buffy has my cellphone number. You can't be there 24-7-365 you know?"
He sighs. "I know."
"And this is your first visit to Disneyland. Try to have a good time?" He nods and kisses your hand again.
As you wander into New Orleans Square, a smile passes over your face. You take a tighter hold of his hand. "Come on you. I'll give you spooks." You lead him towards the Haunted Mansion.
You're waiting outside in the line, Rupert amusing himself looking at the humorous epitaphs, you happily watching him laugh. When you finally get to the head of the line, you are crowded into a small room with about twenty other people. "I must say, this is a little cramped," Rupert whispers to you.
You grin up at him. "Rookie." His arms slip around your waist as he stands behind you. The floor of the room descends, giving the illusion of stretching. You feel Rupert smile against your hair as the portraits hanging around the room are revealed in their entirety. His thumbs have slipped just under the hem of your shirt and are rubbing slow circles on your stomach. Just as you are developing some very un-Disney-like thoughts, a panel in the wall opens behind the two of you and a tall man dressed in a butler's outfit, attempting to look sinister, gestures for you to proceed.
Now at the head of the line by default, the two of you resume your hand-holding as you make your way to the loading dock and enter your "doom-buggy". Rupert climbs into the car and together you pull the safety rail down over your laps. He takes the opportunity to scoot closer to you and slip his arm around your shoulders again.
During your pass through the cemetery, Rupert is more interested in nibbling on your neck than seeing a special effects version of his place of work. As you enter the ballroom overlook however, you nudge him lightly and gesture for him to watch. From the look on his face, he is suitably awed. You smile as you observe him and then realize you're going to have to ride again later. You were so busy watching Rupert, you didn't get to enjoy the ball yourself. As he smiles over at you though, you realize, you got the better show.
When you notice that you're about to come to the hall of mirrors, you push Rupert gently away from you and into the corner. You scoot back into the opposite corner. He looks positively confused. You smile reassuringly and point to the mirrors. As he turns his head he sees, in the mirror, a green ghost with a top hat appear. He jumps, barely stopping himself from screaming. He turns quickly, trying to see if the apparition is truly in the seat between you. All he sees is you smiling at him. He glances in the mirror again and the ghost is still there.
He scoots through the ghost until he is at your side again. He presses against you tightly, making sure you are good and trapped in the corner. Rupert leans in and kisses you thoroughly...
