Oliver

Camden, England

by GylzGirl

You're in Camden, England. You're walking silently through a deserted estate at night, your path lit only by the full moon beaming through the windows. You enter a bedroom on the second floor. In the middle of the room is a king sized bed with antique lace trimmings. You smile, realizing that this is the master bedroom as you begin to scan the walls searching for the safe containing the documents you've been ordered to recover. Suddenly you hear a noise, footsteps, someone's approaching. You slip the safety off your sig sauer and conceal yourself against the wall.

The footsteps approach nearer, nearer. Your heart is pounding as you concentrate on the entryway, aiming. The footsteps stop. You strain to hear. Just then, movement from the entryway, faster than your eyes can follow. You feel a hand grip your throat and another grasp the wrist of your gun hand. You are slammed against the wall, the sig clattering to the marble-tiled floor. You gasp and look to the face of your attacker.

Those eyes, that hair, the gold hoop earring. This face you once knew so well but you don't remember it looking so...haunted. The grip around your neck loosens as you see recognition flash across his handsome features.

"My God...it can't be..." He breathes.

"Oliver?"

His hand slides from your neck to your shoulder. "They...they told me you were dead."

"That's what I was told. A bomb they said. No survivors."

"I got off the plane." His voice is thick with emotion.

"Oliver." He leans in and kisses you, hungrily. His hands gently caress the sides of your face. You wrap your arms around him.

"We can't," you say pulling back. "I'm on assignment."

"No, not anymore. We both just quit." Oliver sweeps you off the floor and into his arms. "They're never going to take you away from me again." Oliver kisses you passionately and turns toward the bed...
