Oliver

Warehouse

by GylzGirl

The sun is just starting to set as you carefully slip inside the barely open door of the warehouse. The car you and Oliver have been chasing for 15 minutes has been abandoned outside the gates of this facility. Oliver has gone through the front and you are taking the back door.

Once inside, the only light seems to be coming from the door you just entered and from a few spots in the skylight above that aren't covered over with leaves and dirt. You can see what looks to be a labyrinth of large crates stacked at different heights, some almost to the roof. You are not liking the looks of this. You draw your weapon, take a deep breath and move into the near darkness.

You carefully take each step, trying to make no traceable noises and trying to be alert to movement around you. As you round the third large stack you've come to, you hear a noticeable creak in the boards above you. You have just enough time to start to look up when you feel the weight of a body crashing down upon you.

When you wake up what you feel must be just a few moments later, you are upside down, slung over the shoulder of an unidentified abductor.

"Stop right there!" The sound of Oliver's voice calms you.

"Or what?" The unfamiliar voice of the man who holds you challenges him.

You hear the hammer click back on Oliver's gun. Taking a deep breath, you bend your knee sharply and kick the man holding you directly in the nose with your heel. The ground rushes toward you as he falls over backwards, taking you with him. You manage to land in a sloppy tuck and roll, saving none of your pride but most of the injury the landing would have caused. As soon as your feet touch down, you are up on them and sprinting back towards the crates.

You hear the footfalls of the man who had you, followed by Oliver's not too far behind. You are trying to zigzag to both elude capture and to get out of Oliver's line of fire but your pursuer seems to intuit where you will step next no matter what you try. Out of desperation, you run straight on to the crates and then veer sharply right. The man is trying to stop himself from crashing into them when you hear Oliver's gun ring out. Your quickly dive into a much more graceful tuck and roll to get well clear of the area as you see Oliver's high shot shatter the corner of the second highest crate, bringing the top one crashing down on the man who was after you.

In a flash, Oliver is at your side pulling you into his arms and embracing you tightly. "That was some good shooting there," you say as you hug him back.

"You weren't too bad yourself. Did he hurt you?"

You shake your head carefully. "Little bump on the head." He bends your forehead to his lips and kisses it.

Soon there is movement beneath the crate remnants as your pursuer comes to. Oliver quickly cups your cheeks and kisses you before turning his attention to the man on the ground. He pulls a length of rope from his pocket and roughly pushes the man down on his stomach, pulling his arms hard behind him. As he binds the man on the ground, you clear your throat to get his attention.

"Oliver, if you have any of that left...save it for later." You smile at him and he returns it.
