First and foremost, if you aren't a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and/or Anthony Stewart Head, you're probably in the wrong place. This webring is for the purpose of linking together the websites of those of us who write either primarily Giles focused stories, or stories featuring Giles as a leading character within the ensemble. This is created in the hopes of making it easier for readers to locate Gilesian fics, poetry, scripts, etc. while surfing the web, as well as bring the community of authors fascinated with this outstanding character in closer contact with each other.

With the changeover of ownership of Webring.com, the application proceedure has changed a little. To be included in the ring, you need to do the following 3 steps:

1) Go here: http://j.webring.com/hub?ring=gilesguild and click the "Join this Ring" button.

2) You must then add the webring code to your page right away. I will not approve your site until webring lists your page as having the code on it. Because of the new ring rating system Webring has introduced, you must add the webring code to the exact page that you list with the ring. If you list your main page, the ring must be placed on the main page. If you add it to your webrings page, the webrings page must be the URL you list with the ring. If you have not added the code within 7 days your site will be deleted from the ring queue. You may always reapply later. I will check your site to see if it meets the ring's criteria. If it does, I will add you.

3) The other thing (besides the webring box) that I will be checking your site for is Giles content. If he is most often your lead character, this shouldn't be a problem. If he is one of your leads in more ensemble-based fics, you need to be sure the average browser can tell that he is a featured player in at least three or more of the fics there. This is a Giles webring. No or little Giles content sort of defeats the purpose. Your site must have at least 3 stories (or other original written works) where Rupert Giles is the main character, or is featured prominently and the average surfer should be able to tell that from your main fic page. If your page features R/NC-17 rated fics, that's fine, but they need to be well-marked and warnings of some kind should be in place.

NOTE: If your page contains artwork or materials taken without permission from another site, and I am made aware of it, your site will be denied entry to, suspended from, or deleted from the ring, depending on the individual situation.

It may take a few days between your submission and your addition to the ring. Such are the pitfalls of real life and the internet. Don't be impatient. If you will or won't be added, you will be notified. Also, if I am unable to add you at the present time due to your content not matching the ring's requirements, please don't hesitate to reapply if that changes.
