These Dreams: Epilogue
"Yeah, I think we're on." Buffy said with a small smile. Willow sighed in relief. She had been thinking things over and decided that on the second time around, she would visualize Giles on purpose. She had Oz for real, she figured she might as well have as much fun with this fantasy as she could. Cordy too breathed in relief. She had also decided this time, Giles was going to be the dream man she wished for. After all, she could have Xander any time she wanted, if she wanted. But for now, she wanted Giles. And Cordelia Chase always got what she wanted. Buffy grinned enigmatically at her friends. She had made up her mind that this time around, she would cast the spell to dream about Giles. What good was dreaming about Angel, when she could never ever have that again? Giles was on the other hand the remotest of the remote possibilities, but at least no one would die over it. Giles entered the library to the strange smiles and blushing cheeks of the female members of the Scooby Gang. "Hello girls." "Hi." They chimed in unison. "So what do you all have planned for your weekend?" "Oh not much, patrol, slumber party at Will's," Buffy said. "Why, what do you have planned?" He yawned. "Well unless something pressing turns up, I plan to sleep mainly. I haven't been getting much the past few days. Keep waking up three times a night. And the dreams..." "D-Dreams?" Willow asked. "What dreams?" Cordy joined in. "Bad dreams?" Buffy queried. "N-no, not bad really," Giles blushed a little himself. "Just, um, odd. Greek temples, and pirate ships, and 1940's singing clubs." He shrugged, not picking up on the expressions of the girls. "As I said, just um, odd. Have fun at your party girls. Do contact me if anything comes up." He disappeared into his office. "If he was dreaming what we were dreaming, when we were dreaming it," Willow looked to her friends. "Oh gosh, that means...well, it's almost like we actually...well, did it." Cordelia gulped. "Willow, you know I think I'm gonna have to back out of Saturday after all, I'm getting a little lax in my patrols." "Yeah, and I have a hair appointment I'm going to make...um I mean that I already made, I just forgot. Sorry about that." "That's okay, I really have some homework I should get to. I mean three months isn't actually all that much of a headstart on a term paper right?" The other girls nodded. Willow dug into her backpack and produced the olive-green covered book, "Dreamspells." She stood and walked to the book returns box. Cordy and Buffy walked to her side as she sat the volume in the box. Together, they left. A few moments later, the library doors opened and a feminine pair of hands dipped into the returns box, taking the green book sitting there and leaving with it. Back to These Dreams Index
