Season 1 (1997)

WELCOME TO THE HELLMOUTH: 16 year old Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) transfers to Sunnydale High School hoping to put her life as the Slayer behind her only to find out that this new town lies atop the Hellmouth. She finds allies in her new Watcher, school librarian Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head), and friends Alexander "Xander" Harris (Nicholas Brendon) and Willow Rosenburg (Alyson Hannigan). She also managers to offend the most popular girl in school, Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter).

THE HARVEST (Welcome to the H-Mouth, part 2): Buffy learns of The Harvest from a mysterious stranger named Angel (David Boreanaz), a ceremony which will allow the Master (Mark Metcalf), the local Vampire King, to rise from his underground prison.

THE WITCH: Against Giles' wishes, Buffy tries out for the cheerleading squad. When unique accidents start to plague the top contenders, the Slayerettes suspect witchcraft.

TEACHER'S PET: Angel warns Buffy of the vampire menace that is "Fork-guy", while Xander develops a major crush on substitute teacher Natalie French. Buffy soon finds out that Miss French may not be what she seems.

NEVER KILL A BOY ON THE FIRST DATE: Buffy's role of Slayer interferes with her attempts at dating Owen. The prophecy of "The Anointed One" is brought about.

THE PACK: On a field trip to the zoo, a hyena spirit possesses Xander, leading to some rather predatory behavior on his part.

ANGEL: After he rescues her from "the 3", Buffy confronts some of her developing feelings for Angel and also learns his disturbing secret.

I, ROBOT--YOU, JANE: Willow develops an Internet romance that has her friends concerned. Computer teacher Miss Calendar (Robia La Morte) annoys Giles with her "up with technology" views.

THE PUPPET SHOW: New Principal Snyder (Armin Shimmerman) puts Giles in charge of running the school's talent show. When a grisly murder occurs on campus, Buffy believes a demon to be the culprit.

NIGHTMARES: Everyone in Sunnydale's worst dreams are coming true and an enigmatic boy is seemingly the only link between them.

INVISIBLE GIRL: Attacks on Cordelia's entourage lead the Slayerettes to investigate a missing Sunnydale high student.

PROPHECY GIRL: Giles uncovers a tragic prophecy in the Codex, and Buffy must deal with its consequences.

Season 2 (1997-1998)

WHEN SHE WAS BAD: Still recovering from the events of "Prophecy Girl", Buffy begins her Junior year with an uncomfortable emotional distance between her and her friends. The Anointed (Andrew J. Ferchland) instigates a plan that could cost her those she holds most dear.

SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED: An empty grave leads Buffy and the others to investigate possible Frankenstein wannabes.

SCHOOL HARD: The vampires Spike (James Marsters) and Drusilla (Juliet Landau) arrive in town just in time for parent-teacher night at SHS. As Spike lays siege to the school, Buffy tries to get her mother and the others out alive.

INCA MUMMY GIRL: Xander falls for Ampata, the exchange student staying at Buffy's house. Buffy, Giles and Willow discover she may have a deadly secret.

REPTILE BOY: After Angel gives her the brush-off, Buffy accepts an invitation from Cordelia to attend a frat party. A decision she may not live long enough to regret.

HALLOWEEN: On Halloween night, a strange curse settles over Sunnydale, transforming people into their costumes.

LIE TO ME: An old friend of Buffy's from LA arrives in town. How he knows she's the Slayer may not be as important as why he cares.

THE DARK AGES: Giles' past comes back to haunt him and may take the lives of those he cares most for before it's done.

WHAT'S MY LINE (part 1): With Drusilla's cure at hand, Spike calls in The Order of Taraka, a society of bounty hunters, to kill the Slayer.

WHAT'S MY LINE (part 2): Kendra (Bianca Lawson) and Buffy try to find a way to save Angel from Spike and Dru's ceremony before it's too late.

TED: Buffy distrusts her mother's new boyfriend Ted (John Ritter). Giles finds that Jenny is still affected by the events of "The Dark Ages".

BAD EGGS: The school's parenting assignment of egg babies hatches unexpected trouble. Buffy tries to take down the Gorches.

SURPRISE (1 of 2): Buffy turns 17 on an anything but happy birthday. Spike and Dru assemble The Judge (Brian Thompson).

INNOCENCE (2 of 2): Buffy discovers that some of the people she trusts aren't what they appear to be.

PHASES: The full moon wreaks havoc in Sunnydale, unleashing both a werewolf and a werewolf hunter who may be more dangerous than his prey.

BEWITCHED, BOTHERED, AND BEWILDERED: While Angelus plans a Valentine's surprise for Buffy, Xander enlists the aid of Amy (Elizabeth Anne Allen) to cast a spell to win Cordelia back.

PASSION: Angelus' plan to destroy the Slayerettes gets into full swing as the first of them falls victim and the repercussions are shattering.

KILLED BY DEATH: A fever-ridden Buffy lands in the hospital in the midst of a rash of deaths in the children's ward. Xander stands sentinel for Buffy much to Cordelia's dismay.

I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU: Poltergeist activity plagues SHS, a still-mourning Giles suspects Jenny while the Scooby Gang believes the clues lead to a tragic murder in the 50's. Angelus and co. seek out new diggs and Snyder's true agenda is hinted at.

GO FISH: As the grizzly remains of members of the SHS champion swim team begin to surface, Xander joins the team to get an inside track on the situation.

BECOMING 1: Flashbacks show Angel's and Buffy's pasts. Jenny's disk is found, creating rifts within the group of whether or not to use the ritual. Giles is called into the museum for advice on an ancient artifact, one that figures heavily in Angelus' plan to send the entire world to Hell.

BECOMING 2: Buffy is suspected of murder. Willow is in the hospital. Angelus has captured Giles to find out how to loose Acathla. Buffy receives help from two unlikely sources and secrets are revealed.

Season 3 (1998-1999)

ANNE: The Slayerettes have been taking up the staking slack in Buffy's absence. Giles has spent all summer tracking down every lead on Buffy's whereabouts that has come his way. Meanwhile, Buffy has rented a room in the city and is working as a waitress, trying to put being the Slayer behind her. An old acquaintance recognizes her and asks for her help.

DEAD MAN'S PARTY: Buffy's back in town and has an uneasy reunion with Giles and her friends. Joyce's (Kristine Sutherland) Nigerian mask conjures gatecrashers to Buffy's welcome home bash.

FAITH, HOPE, AND TRICK: Buffy gets reinstated at school. A new Slayer, Faith (Eliza Dushku), comes to town, bringing with her a brand new enemy.

BEAUTY AND THE BEASTS: A student's body is found mauled. The gang fears werewolf Oz (Seth Green) may have slipped his cage and committed the deed, while Buffy, having found Angel wandering and nearly feral, fears it may have been him.

HOMECOMING: A rivalry between Buffy and Cordelia for Homecoming Queen gets Cordy mistaken for Faith in Mr. Trick's (K. Todd Freeman) SlayerFest '98 and the two must work together to stay alive as they are hunted.

BAND CANDY: A special treat, courtesy of Ethan Rayne (Robin Sachs), is cooked up for the adults of Sunnydale, giving them a second taste of adolescence and resurrecting a rebellious youth named "Ripper".

REVELATIONS: A new Watcher comes to town telling of a demon in search of a glove and disapproving of Giles' methods. The gang discovers Buffy has been hiding Angel and calls her out on it.

LOVER'S WALK: A lovelorn Spike returns to town. He abducts student-witch Willow, and Xander, wishing a spell be cast to bring his beloved Dru back to him.

THE WISH: Cordy, still smarting from the break-up with Xander, is tricked by an evil force into wishing away Buffy's having ever come to Sunnydale. She finds herself in a world where The Master (Mark Metcalf) roams free, vampires rule the night, and Willow and Xander are leaders of the undead.

AMENDS: While the gang makes their holiday plans, Angel is haunted by visions of his past victims.

GINGERBREAD: Joyce picks a bad night to join Buffy on patrol and finds the bodies of two slain children in the park. She organizes "Mother's Against the Occult" or MOO, but who are they really fighting against and why?

HELPLESS: On her 18th birthday, Buffy finds her Slayer-strength gone and Giles carries out a Slayer's rite-of-passage.

THE ZEPPO: The Scooby Gang prepares to fight the apocalypse and seek to exclude Xander for his own safety. Xander discovers, in Sunnydale, there is no such thing as the safer path.

BAD GIRLS (1 of 2): The new Watcher, Wesley Wyndham-Price (Alexis Denisof) arrives much to the annoyance of Giles and the Slayers. Buffy rebels and follows Faith on a reckless path. The Mayor's (Harry Groener) plan gets underway.

CONSEQUENCES (2 of 2): Continues directly after Bad Girls. The murdered man is identified as the Mayor's lackey. Buffy works to look after Faith, while Faith works against Buffy.

DOPPLEGANGLAND: Anya (Emma Caulfield), the evil genie from "the Wish," tricks an underappreciated and boring-feeling Willow into helping her perform a spell to retrieve her necklace. When it backfires, it brings forth a guest from the Alternate Sunnydale that Willow, and all her friends, find most distressing. Also, Faith begins her alliance with the Mayor.

ENEMIES: As part of Faith's deal with the Mayor, she seeks to come between Buffy and Angel, by bringing back Angelus.

EARSHOT: While fighting a mouthless demon, Buffy gets some of its blood on her. Giles researches and finds that she will inherit an "aspect of the demon". Buffy worries what this aspect will be, but when it makes itself known it becomes more worrisome than she could have imagined.

CHOICES: The Mayor and Faith have acquired the Box of Gavrok. The gang launches a cloak and dagger mission to retrieve it, only to have one of their members fall into the enemy's hands.

THE PROM: Angel makes a tough decision the week of the Senior Prom, and Buffy tries to distract herself from heartache by stopping Hellhounds from ruining the dance.

GRADUATION DAY, PART 1: With everything coming in to play for the Mayor's Ascension/Graduation Day, the gang still find themselves scrambling for a plan of attack. Faith makes a move that forces Buffy to confront her.

GRADUATION DAY, PART 2: With her plan for saving Angel thwarted, Buffy puts herself in danger to save his life. Faith's fate is revealed, as is a possible weakness of the Mayor. The gang prepares to make their stand at the Ascension.

Season 4 (1999-2000)

THE FRESHMAN: Buffy begins college, feeling very much on her own and out of place.

LIVING CONDITIONS: Dorm life with a Celine Dion fan from Hell as a roommate has Buffy on the verge of sanity.

THE HARSH LIGHT OF DAY: Buffy falls under the spell of a fellow student named Parker Abrams. Spike returns to Sunnydale with a new girlfriend, a now-vamped Harmony (Mercedes McNab). His search for the mythical Gem of Amara brings him across the Slayer's path once more. (Part one of two. The second part is an Angel episode named "In the Dark".)

FEAR, ITSELF: Still down over Parker, Buffy's friends talk her into attending a Fraternity Spook House for Halloween. However, when the college boys inadvertently release a fear demon that is bringing the party attendants' worst fears to life, it falls to Giles to save the night.

BEER BAD: A bad brew of beer de-evolves Buffy and her new drinking buddies into grunting primitives. A new singer at the Bronze, Veruca, rubs Willow the wrong way as she plays up to Oz.

WILD AT HEART: Willow is becoming more anxious as she watches Veruca try to get closer to Oz. Oz escapes his cage in his werewolf state and makes a discovery as to why he was so attracted to Veruca in the first place.

THE INITIATIVE: Spike awakens in captivity and plans to escape and finish off Buffy once and for all. Riley Finn (Marc Blucas) awakens to the fact that he is fully infatuated with Buffy. Willow continues to try to cope with the events of "Wild at Heart".

PANGS: A Native American vengeance spirit is unleashed on Sunnydale as Buffy tries to plan the perfect Thanksgiving get-together for the Scooby Gang.

SOMETHING BLUE: Willow attempts a spell to have her will be done in hopes of mending her broken heart. Unfortunately, it backfires, enforcing her will on her closest friends, rendering Giles blind, Xander a bigger demon magnet, and Spike and Buffy engaged.

HUSH: A new menace descends on Sunnydale, stealing the voices of all its inhabitants. The gang has to identify and stop the threat without being able to speak.

DOOMED: After her discovery about Riley, Buffy begins to seriously doubt their relationship. An Earthquake seems to portent yet another apocalypse, as well as bringing up bad memories for the Slayer.

A NEW MAN: Dispondent over the revelation that Buffy kept information from him yet again, Giles takes Ethan up on a night at the pub. When he wakes up the next day, he finds out just what a bad idea that was.

THE I IN TEAM: Buffy joins up with the Initiative and she and Riley make some discoveries about it and each other.

GOODBYE IOWA: Professor Walsh's (Lindsay Crouse) body is found and Riley begins to exhibit some disturbing behavior.

THIS YEAR'S GIRL: Part 1 of 2. As Buffy and the Scoobies seek Adam (George Hertberg), Faith awakens from her coma and learns the fate of the Mayor.

WHO ARE YOU?: Part 2 of 2. Faith takes over Buffy's life while Buffy must try to free herself from the Council's special ops unit in order to save her friends from the unbalanced Slayer.

SUPERSTAR: Jonathan (Danny Strong) becomes the instant center of everyone's universe. Nobody remembers when it happened and only Buffy begins to suspect that it wasn't always this way.

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE: A party at Riley's dorm turns into a house of horrors as spirits from the past return to raise havoc with the present. Meanwhile, Giles gets a cool new job.

NEW MOON RISING: Oz returns seemingly cured and puts Willow in the uncomfortable position of having to choose between her love for him and her new feelings for Tara (Amber Benson).

THE YOKO FACTOR: Part 1 of 2. As Adam's plan gets underway, Spike expertly plays on the inner tensions of the Scoobies, trying to tear the family apart from the inside.

PRIMEVAL: Part 2 of 2 The Scooby Gang must come together as never before to defeat Adam and his army.

RESTLESS: The gang decides on a video night at Joyce's house unaware that a force they summoned in their battle with Adam seems intent on hunting them through their dreams.

Season 5 (2000-2001)

BUFFY VS. DRACULA: The mythical Count (Rudolf Martin) drops in on Sunnydale, awakening knowledge within Buffy that she can't deny.

REAL ME: Buffy's hitherto unknown little sister, Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg), feels overshadowed by her superhero sibling. Giles gets new wheels...and an idea for a new vocation.

THE REPLACEMENT: When a demon is hunting for the Slayer, Xander's heroism leaves him beside himself...literally.

OUT OF MY MIND: Riley discovers that if he doesn't lose his Initiative enhanced capabilities it may cost him his life, but he's more worried about losing Buffy. Spike makes some discoveries of his own.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME: Buffy discovers a new "girl" in town and the truth about her "little sister". Giles' Magic Box has its Grand Opening and an offer is made to Anya.

FAMILY: On the occasion of Tara's (Amber Benson) 20th birthday, her father, brother and cousin come to take her away before her new friends can uncover her secret. Meanwhile, Buffy tells only Giles what she has found out about Dawn, and moves back home to be closer to her "sister".

FOOL FOR LOVE: A near-miss on patrol gives Buffy the urgent need to find out how the other Slayers died so she can keep herself from making the same mistakes. She finds her only source of reliable information is the only person who was present at the deaths of two Slayers: Spike.

SHADOW: Glory (Claire Kramer) conjurs a way to find "The Key". Joyce seems to be getting worse.

LISTENING TO FEAR: The Scoobies take up the Slaying slack as the girls take Joyce home to await her surgery.

INTO THE WOODS: After her mother's operation, Buffy is in a celebratory mood but events force her to take a hard look at her relationship with Riley Finn.

TRIANGLE: While Buffy is going through emotional ups and downs in the aftermath of Riley's departure, Willow and Anya are forced to acheive a truce as they work together to defeat a destructive troll.

COUNTERPOINT: The Watcher's Council is back in Sunnydale, this time using vital information about Glory and the threat of revoking Giles' green card to try to control Buffy.

BLOOD TIES: On Buffy's 20th birthday, Dawn finds out the truth.

CRUSH: Spike owns up to his feelings for Buffy and, despite her disgust, attempts to court her...in his own way. Someone from Spike's past has come back to try to claim what's theirs.

I WAS MADE TO LOVE YOU: A lovestruck robot on the loose in Sunnydale helps to distract a Slayer squicked by Spike's affection.

THE BODY: Aftermath from the last scene in IWMTLY. Anything else would be telling.

FOREVER: Buffy mechanically takes care of business while Dawn is caught in an emotional storm, struggling to maintain.

INTERVENTION: Buffy and Giles head out of town to a mystical spot that may answer some of her questions. Spike has found himself a new toy that the Scoobies find rather disturbing.

TOUGH LOVE: Tara and Willow's first fight foreshadows a tragedy involving Glory and one of the gang. Buffy is forced to become the unquestioned authority figure in Dawn's life for fear of losing her.

SPIRAL: Glory now knows the Key's identity and the gang is forced to flee Sunnydale. They soon discover they have more than one enemy.

THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD: With the Slayer out of commission, Willow takes charge. The gang heads back to Sunnydale to get a lead on Dawn, get Giles' cared for, and so Willow can try to find a way to reach Buffy.

THE GIFT: 100TH EPISODE. The Gang gears up for the final showdown with Glory. With Dawn's fate and that of the entire world riding on their shoulders, The Scoobies each make life-changing decisions.

Season 6 (2001-2002)

BARGAINING (Part 1): Since Buffy's death, Willow and Tara have moved into the Summers' house to care for Dawn and the Buffybot has been keeping up the appearance of a Slayer in Sunnydale. As Spike, Dawn, and Giles attempt to find their way without Buffy in their lives, Willow, Xander, Tara and Anya think they may have found a way to bring Buffy back.

BARGAINING (Part 2): As a demon motorcycle gang tears through the streets of Sunnydale, the newly arisen and disoriented Buffy wanders an unsure path home.

AFTER LIFE: Buffy tries to adjust to being back while the others discover she may not have come back alone.

FLOODED: Buffy tries to come to terms with the fact that she now has all of her Mother's responsibilities and no income with which to handle them. Also, Giles reunites with the Slayer he thought he lost.

LIFE SERIAL: In order to remedy her current financial situation, Buffy attempts to start college again, as well as try her hand at the working world. Little does she know that a trio of would-be evil masterminds is working against her.

ALL THE WAY: On Halloween, Xander and Anya finally announce their engagement. Dawn tricks Buffy in order to run amuck with some friends.

ONCE MORE WITH FEELING: The Buffy Musical Episode. The Scoobies find themselves, and everyone else in town, spilling their innermost secrets to each other in the form of catchy show tunes.

TABULA RASA: After swearing off magic to placate Tara, Willow tries a spell to wipe Buffy's memories of the after life and Tara's of their fighting. When it backfires and the entire gang loses their memories, things begin to get interesting. Also, Giles tells Buffy his decision.

SMASHED: With the still unrevealed Trio causing havoc with a freeze ray, the Slayer finds herself on the hunt and Spike dogging her heels for resolution about their relationship. Meanwhile, Willow de-rats Amy.

WRECKED: Buffy's having a hard time dealing with the events of "Smashed". Amy's contact proves a bad influence on Willow.

GONE: Buffy undergoes a new hairdo and a case of accidental invisibility, the latter courtesy of the Trio. Meanwhile, Willow tries to stay on the wagon, a task made more difficult by Amy's meddling.

DOUBLEMEAT PALACE: Buffy gets a day job in a fast food restaurant with a curiously high turnover rate and a mysterious super-secret ingredient.

DEAD THINGS: Disturbed by her seeming inability to avoid Spike's advances, Buffy enlists Tara's help to discover why she feels she was brought back *wrong*. Tensions increase between the Summers Sisters. A plot of the Trio's goes terribly wrong.

OLDER AND FAR AWAY: As Buffy's 21st birthday approaches, neglected Dawn sets into motion something that will make her sister's party something all the attendees will be sure to remember.

AS YOU WERE: Riley returns to Sunnydale on the trail of some dangerous demons. He brings with him a surprise.

HELL'S BELLS: Xander and Anya's wedding day has arrived. If their warring families can't put a stop to the nuptuals, will a mysterious old man be able to?

NORMAL AGAIN: While attempting to weed out the Trio, Buffy gets too close and the threesome send a demon to attack her. When it jabs her with a quill, Buffy find herself fluctuating between the world of Sunnydale, and life as a patient in a mental ward. The question then becomes, which nightmare is real?

ENTROPY: Anya returns to Sunnydale, seeking vengence on Xander for breaking her heart. Meanwhile, things look to be on the mend for Tara and Willow's romance.

SEEING RED: Trusts are violated and a double tragedy changes the lives of the gang forever.

VILLAINS: Willow uses magick to heal her friend, and seek revenge on the Trio.

TWO TO GO: After witnessing Willow's punishment of Warren, Buffy and Xander try to protect Jonathan and Andrew from her wrath, in order to save her soul.

GRAVE: Giles returns, resulting in a magical duel between himself and Willow. Meanwhile, Spike seeks help in Africa.



Season 7 (2002-2003)

LESSONS: Dawn begins attending the newly rebuilt Sunnydale High School and it seems a school built directly over the Hellmouth still isn't the best idea. In England, Giles and Willow discuss her powers and how she must learn to live with them responsibly.

BENEATH YOU: A series of attacks seem to be centering on one young woman. Spike, now insane, begins to share some of what he did with his summer vacation.

SAME TIME, SAME PLACE: Willow returns to Sunnydale, unsure of the welcome she'll receive from her friends. At the same time, Buffy, Xander and Dawn are all set with the welcome, if only they could find Willow.

HELP: A student at Sunnydale High with seemingly psychic powers predicts her own death.

SELFLESS: Willow discovers a slaughter zone inside a frat house and suspects Anya's involvement.

HIM: Dawn's sudden crush on a high school boy begins to effect all the Scooby gals.

CONVERSATIONS WITH DEAD PEOPLE: An ancient, powerful threat introduces itself to Willow and Dawn. Buffy gets some bloodsucking therapy and learns secrets about herself... and someone else she knows.

SLEEPER: Buffy learns that the First has been in contact with Spike for some time now.

NEVER LEAVE ME: The Scoobies discover that Andrew is back in town. Spike unwillingly aides the enemy.

BRING ON THE NIGHT: Buffy is faced with an all new breed of vampire.

SHOW TIME: The potential Slayers begin to lose faith in Buffy because of her apparent inability to defeat the Turok-han.

POTENTIAL: A spell seems to indicate that the next potential Slayer is Dawn Summers.

THE KILLER IN ME: As Willow and Kennedy get closer, a bad memory gets in the way.

FIRST DATE: Principal Robin Wood asks Buffy on a date where she discovers interesting information about his family tree.

GET IT DONE: Robin gives Buffy an inherited Slayer's bag of tricks.

STORYTELLER: Andrew is confronted with his tendency for revisionist history.

LIES MY PARENTS TOLD ME: Robin's plans for Spike put Giles in a bad position.

DIRTY GIRLS: Caleb, an emissary of the First, arrives in town...as does Faith.

EMPTY PLACES: The citizens of Sunnydale, seemingly understanding the magnitude of the coming battle, evacuate. Buffy's judgement is called into question.

TOUCHED: Spike and Andrew run a mission out of town. Meanwhile, the Scoobies make their plans without the Slayer

END OF DAYS: Buffy brings her new toy back to the Scoobies and formulates a plan.

CHOSEN: Buffy learns the power of her new weapon. An old friend visits on the eve of the battle.
